Spencer Monroe
"The Walking Dead" will enter its seventh season on October 23, and after leaving on a massive cliffhanger, excitement and anticipation are at all time highs.
For the next few days I will be posting articles about the main characters you will see in the upcoming season, from faces we've seen since the first season to ones we'll be introduced to once season seven begins.
**THERE WILL BE SHOW AND COMIC SPOILERS!**

You have been warned.  If you want to keep reading, do so in knowing that I will be divulging comic book and television show spoilers.  Information was derived from personal comic book readings, show watching, The Walking Dead wiki and imdb.com.
**SERIOUSLY, SPOILERS WILL ABOUND

FROM HERE ON OUT**

Spencer Monroe: The Comics
Spencer is the only child of Regina and Douglas Monroe, who are the leaders of Alexandria.  Before the apocalypse his father had a high ranking position in government, and enjoyed a lavish lifestyle, thus showing a spoiled demeanor.

When Rick's group arrives, he becomes interested in Andrea, but she's not interested in him.  During the herd attack, he gets stuck in the tower with Andrea, Heath and Glenn, and suggests to Andrea that they run off and leave the others behind, and she punches him for it.

After both his mother and father are killed in Alexandria, he tries to rekindle a relationship with Andrea, but she is still disgusted by his true character.  He becomes a co-conspirator with Nicholas to assassinate Rick because he's jealous that Rick and Andrea start dating.

When Rick goes to the Kingdom, Negan visits Alexandria, and Spencer suggests to him that Rick isn't fit to lead and should be killed.  Negan, who respects Rick, tells Spencer he has no guts.  To prove his point, he slices Spencer's stomach open, and is shocked to see that Spencer did have guts - literally.

Spencer Monroe: The Television Series
Spencer was born to Deanna and Reg Monroe, who are the leaders of Alexandria, and has a brother named Aiden who also lives there.  Before the apocalypse, his mother was a senator from Ohio, and therefore lived a lavish lifestyle.  He serves as a lookout for Alexandria and hits on Sasha at the welcome party, but she turns him down.

After Aiden is killed by Walkers, he mourns his death and asks Gabriel to talk, since he has no one else to talk to.  After accidentally leaving the gates open, he goes to investigate it during the town meeting, and while he's away Pete kills Reg with Michonne's sword.   He's present with Olivia, Tobin and Francine when Carter talks about killing Rick, but when Rick intervenes Spencer tells him that only Carter felt that way.

Spencer is in the tower when he sees the Wolves attacking, and shows inaccuracy with the rifle, hardly killing any of them.  He doesn't really get involve in the Wolf fight as he's protecting his mother and not being helpful in any other way.  After the Wolf attack he stops fellow Alexandrians from stealing food from the pantry, which is a surprising turn in leadership for him.  Unfortunately it's just a front as he ends up stealing food for himself, and says he only stopped the others because he wanted the food for himself.

When the horde attacks, he joins the other townspeople in clearing them out, and a few days later he sees his mother as a Walker in the woods and tearfully puts her down.  He begins a relationship with Rosita after Abraham breaks up with her, and as Rick and his group are heading to the Hilltop, he asks Rick if they could make a deal with the Saviors instead of killing them.

I wouldn't be surprised this season if Spencer gets his comic book counterpart's ending, as previews show Negan in Alexandria, and Spencer saying "we should've made a deal with them when we had a chance," showing his cowardness.

Spencer Monroe: The Actor
Austin Nichols was born on April 24, 1980 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  He was raised in Austin, Texas until he was 18, then moved to Los Angeles, where he graduated from University of Southern California with a degree in creative writing.  He's a competitive water skier, representing the US Junior Water Ski Team in the Pan-American Championships in 1997.  He was ranked #3 in the World Junior Rankings list in the Tricks event and skied in the Junior US Masters Championship twice.  He's appeared in "Wimbledon," "The Day After Tomorrow" and "Glory Days" as well as television series "One Tree Hill" and "Ray Donovan."
