**SERIOUSLY, SPOILERS WILL ABOUND
FROM HERE ON OUT**

Eugene Porter: The Comics
Known for his trademark mullet, Eugene was a high school science teacher before the apocalypse.  His greatest strength is his intellect, but he's not so great at fighting or being brave.  He is often kept away from the action to be kept safe, and manipulated Abraham and Rosita into protecting him with the false promise that DC was a safe area.  He tells them that he was a scientist who worked on a project to weaponize the human genome when the plague hit, and they protect him on the way to DC.

They run into Rick's group at Hershel's farm, and attach themselves to the group, going with them to Alexandria where his lies catch up with him and he rethinks his way of living.  He reveals to the group his lie, and Abraham is at first enraged but then grows to accept it.  At Alexandria, he uses a factory to craft bullets, and builds the town into a thriving beacon of hope by designing buildings such as mills.  During the horde attack, he finds his bravery and fights them alongside the rest of the town.  He is with Abraham when he is murdered by Dwight, and is taken captive.  Dwight tries to use Eugene to get into Alexandria, but he bites Dwight in the crotch and escapes.

During the war against the Saviors, he becomes invaluable by being able to craft bullets, and is captured and interrogated by Negan, but refuses to surrender any information.  After the Savior war, he joins the Alexandria Herd Patrol with Aaron, Heath, Rosita and Jesus, and devises a plan using a horn to drive away Walkers.  He marries Rosita and finds out she's pregnant with another man's baby, but says he'll accept the child as his own.  Unfortunately, Rosita is soon killed by Alpha, and Eugene becomes visibly distraught.  He uses a radio and contacts a mysterious survivor named Stephanie, who says she's in Ohio with a group of people.

Eugene Porter: The Television Series
Known for his trademark mullet, Eugene is aloof, eccentric, cultured and highly intelligent.  He's cowardly and clumsy, but his value is evident in his ability to build helpful devices such as water filters and batteries out of common items.  He likes reading and video games, and prioritizes his survival over anything else, even allowing multiple people to sacrifice themselves to protect him, yet he possesses a will to do good when he can.

He meets Abraham on the road and manipulates him into protecting him with the false statement that he was a scientist who worked on a project to weaponize the human genome when the plague hit, and he has a cure.  Abraham and Rosita protect him from Houston to Atlanta, where they meet Glenn and Tara, and eventually Rick's entire group.

His newfound friends and importance of his conscience causes him to expose his lie for the well-being of his friends, and Abraham knocks him unconscious for it, and for awhile the two are at odds, but Abraham eventually forgives him and they reconcile at Alexandria.  He becomes the gate keeper at Alexandria and is shown to be good friends with Tara, mustering up unknown strength to protect and rescue her after she's knocked unconscious during a dangerous supply run.  His bravery grows when he assists in taking out the Walkers invading Alexandria, and gives Daryl a map to find sorghum, which would improve their food stocks.  He finds an abandoned factory outside of town that he can use to manufacture bullets, and is captured by Dwight and brought before Daryl and Rosita.  Abraham causes a diversion and Eugene bites Dwight in the crotch and escapes.

He is one of the members of the group that goes with Maggie to Hilltop, when they are ambushed by Negan.  Eugene chooses to sacrifice himself by driving off in the RV and creating a diversion so the rest could escape, but not only is he captured and brought before Negan, but the others are as well.

Why Eugene Could Die
At first, Eugene was a secondary character who didn't have a lot to work with.  If he had died earlier, no one would've batted an eye, but lately he's been showing his worth in the town, becoming brave, and being an invaluable asset to the community.

Why Eugene Won't Die
Eugene is one of the three that has the most chance of dying, so him not dying would be a surprise.  He still has a lot of his story that needs flushed out, so that could be a reason why he'd be around.

Eugene Porter: The Actor
