**SERIOUSLY, SPOILERS WILL ABOUND
FROM HERE ON OUT**

Morgan Jones: The Comics
Morgan was the man who explained to Rick what has happened since he was shot and put in a coma, telling him about his wife who died, and his son Duane whom he was raising alone.  Rick departs from them and Morgan isn't seen until months later, when Rick, Carl and Abraham go to Rick's hometown to find more weapons.  Time has affected Morgan, as Walkers had bitten Duane and now he's a crazed man, keeping the Walker Duane on a leash because he can't put him down.  After talking with Rick, Morgan agrees to go with him and he sets Duane free.

The world has been rough on Morgan's psyche, as he shows mental illness and self-harming behaviors, and he goes with Rick's group to Alexandria where they appoint him a chef.  He doesn't get along with the happy community, and finds solace in Michonne, and they start a relationship.  During the horde attack, he's bitten in the arm and Michonne amputates it with her sword, but he dies from blood loss.  Michonne puts him down before he reanimates.

Morgan Jones: The Television Series
Morgan is one of the few television series characters who has outlived their comic book counterpart.  Before the apocalypse, Morgan could have been a welder, as he has a great knowledge of carpentry.  He's intelligent, caring and fearless, but also damaged.  He was a loving family man until his wife turned, and he had to take care of his young son Duane by himself.

He finds Rick after his coma and informs him on what has happened in the world, and after Rick leaves Morgan spots his Walker wife, but can't find it in himself to put her down.  Months later, Rick, Carl and Michonne return to his hometown for weapons, and finds Morgan, who is now a crazed man set on clearing out the entire area of Walkers.  His son Duane had been bitten and turned, and Morgan became insane with grief, and when Rick offers him to leave with them, he declines and remains alone in the town.

The effects of his emotions had turned Morgan into a cold-blooded killer, murdering anyone who got in his way, until he met a peaceful man named Eastman who helped him reclaim his sanity.  He developed a code of never killing humans again, developed fighting skills from Eastman, and now carries around his signature wooden bo staff made by Eastman.  After Eastman dies, Morgan sets out to find Rick, making it to Gabriel's church before he finds a map to DC with Rick's name on it.

Morgan makes it to Alexandria, where he runs into two Wolves, but refuses to kill them due to his view of seeing all life as precious.  He runs into Daryl and Aaron who take him to the Safe-Zone, where he witnesses Rick killing Pete in cold blood, and is shocked by it.

He's shown himself to be a strong survivor with great fighting skills and will do anything to keep his people safe from harm - as long as it doesn't involve killing.  When the Wolves attack, he sends away a bunch of them (who later ambush Rick, but he kills them all) and takes their leader captive.  His ideological nemesis, Carol, wants to kill the Wolf leader but he doesn't allow her, and the two get into a fight, and Morgan knocks Carol unconscious, leaving room for the Wolf to knock Morgan out and take Denise captive during the horde attack.  Carol eventually kills the Wolf.

When it comes to the Saviors, Morgan is once again against killing any of them, and begins building a jail cell to hold human threats instead of killing them.  When Carol sends herself into exile, he heads out to find her and is able to rescue her from a Savior who is about to kill her by killing him.  Both are rescued by two men who take them to the Kingdom.
