**SERIOUSLY, SPOILERS WILL ABOUND
FROM HERE ON OUT**
Eric: The Comics
Eric was one of the original members of Alexandria, along with his boyfriend Aaron. They're the recruiters for the town, and would go out and find different groups to bring to the community, usually involving Aaron speaking for the town and Eric hiding back in case things would go south, then he would kill them if necessary. Aaron finds Rick's group, and together he and Eric take them back to Alexandria. Eric is considered friendly, but cautious and vigilant as well. During the horde invasion of Alexandra, Eric was hiding in his home with Aaron until Aaron decided to go fight, and Eric joined him and got over his fear of the Walkers. He then joins Rick and Aaron in their war against the Saviors, but is shot in the head during the siege on an outpost and dies in Aaron's arms.
Eric: The Television Series
Eric grew up in the Appalachian Mountains with his parents, where he worked the land and became so knowledgeable about it that he worked with the NGO before the apocalypse, where he met and fell in love with Aaron. After the apocalypse, they found refuge in Alexandria and became recruiters who would go out and bring people into their community.Gentle, friendly, caring and honest, Eric and Aaron ran into Rick's group and then Eric's ankle is broken when a herd of Walkers pushes a car tire on him, and is rescued by Rick's group. Aaron convinces Eric to retire from recruiting after this event, and enlists Daryl to take his place, and Daryl becomes good friends with Aaron and Eric. When the Wolves attack, he helps a mortally wounded Holly to the infirmary with Aaron and Rosita, and helps by keeping guard and donating blood, even though she still dies from her wounds. During the horde attack he goes out to fight the Walkers with Aaron.
On the show, Eric's presence isn't that strong, and so far it seems he's destined to die sometime this season once the all out war begins.
