Review:
The first "Cabin Fever" was an amazing piece of horror cinema.  I still remember it even though I haven't seen it in years, especially the now classic leg shaving scene.  The second film came out a few years ago, and it was so bad all I remember is that it had something to do with a prom or something, so I didn't have high hopes for this origin prequel.

I wasn't disappointed.  It was another lame movie based off the fantastic original (which I've heard they're re-making, I have no idea why).  Ever since "The Lord of the Rings," Sean Astin hasn't been able to find solid work, and it shows here, as he's the only glint of light in an otherwise stupid movie.  Once again we're treated to a group of young adults that no one roots for, because they're all so terribly lame.  The only cool scene was the two girls fighting, because they're both infected and basically just literally rip skin and bone off each other.  Other than that, it was a very lame effort.

Summary:
If you want to find out how the virus started, give it a view.  If you want to see a great horror film, look elsewhere.

My Rating: C+
