All Cheerleaders Die

All Cheerleaders Die
Starring Caitlin Stasey, Sianoa Smit-McPhee, Brooke Butler, Tom Williamson
Directed by Lucky McKee & Chris Sivertson

Synopsis:
After the tragic death of a cheerleader during practice, Maddy (Caitlin Stasey) takes her place, and at first she's repulsed by the cheerleaders but then starts to really become one of them, even falling for the new captain, Tracy (Brooke Butler), who is seeing Terry (Tom Williamson), the football captain with a shady past.

When Terry's sins are brought to light, he leads a rampage against the cheerleaders, sending their car off the road and to their deaths.  Maddy's former love, and witch, Leena (Sianoa Smit-McPhee), rescues the girls and brings them back to life with her magic stones, but it has an adverse side effect in that the girls need to feed on human blood to sustain life.

As they get revenge against the football players who caused their deaths, Terry learns their deadly secret and uncovers how to become even more powerful, and it's up to Maddy and Leena to stop him for good.

Review:
The concept was an interesting one, and if it had been done with a bigger budget and better actors, it could've been really good.  Unfortunately that wasn't the case, and even though there were some really good parts, most of it was a jumbled mess.  If it lasted another thirty minutes or so, it could've been great with character development and story structure, but after the girls come back there's only about thirty minutes left in the film which is just spent them getting revenge, and not delving deeper into their story.

Summary:
Had a few funny moments, and if you turn off your brain you'll enjoy it.  Otherwise, it was a jumbled mess.

My Rating: C-
