Fast & Furious 6
Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Luke Evans
Directed by Justin Lin

After the events in Rio, Dom (Vin Diesel) and his gang are living the lives of luxury outside the United States, since they are still fugitives.  Brian (Paul Walker) becomes a father after Mia (Jordana Brewster) gives birth, and everyone else is enjoying the spoils they earned from Rio.

One day Dom is visited by Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), with a proposition: help him take down Special Forces solder Owen Shaw (Luke Evans).  At first Dom isn't interested, but Hobbs shows him a picture of Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Dom's former flame, whom he thought was dead.

Dom gathers the gang together and, with the promise of amnesty, agree to help Hobbs with the assignment.  They discover Letty is working for Shaw, and getting her back and stopping Shaw would be more difficult than they first imagined.  With some insane car chases, airplanes, and even a tank, the film is filled with non-stop action.

The original "The Fast and the Furious" dealt with a police officer working undercover to find a criminal in the world of illegal speed racing.  As the sequels built up, it slowly drifted away from that concept to now, which is more of a heist caper with fast cars than anything else.  Gone are the gritty streets of Los Angeles, and now the team is in London tracking down an internationally feared criminal.

Most series would've jumped the shark at this point, but there's something genuine in the "Fast and Furious" movies that makes it get better with time.  Even though it's abandoned the United States and all but eliminated the street racing motif, it still keeps the main purpose alive - the concept of family, even if it isn't blood relations.  Everything the gang does is for each other, and they truly look out for one another.  So when one of their own seems to have turned, they don't turn their back on her.  As Dom said, "You don't turn your back on family, even when they do."

And I, for one, love these family reunions!

As for the action - it's pretty much non stop.  Even though it's over the top (especially with the tank and airplane), you don't go to these films to see reality.  Director Justin Lin packs the punches in spades, and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout.
