Golden Globes 2024 Predictions
Golden Globes 2024 Predictions
The one thing I like about winter is awards season. BAFTA, Critics' Choice, SAG Awards, culminating to the biggest night in cinema, The Oscars. Each awards year begins though with the Golden Globes, and while I haven't had the chance to watch too many movies nominated since they weren't playing in my area, here are my predictions on who will win.

It's a strong category with many deserving winners, but Brady Corbet's epic tale of the immigrant experience will more than likely win.
BEST MOTION PICTURE, MUSICAL OR COMEDY
Anora
Challengers
Emilia Perez
A Real Pain
The Substance
Wicked
Can anything stop this juggernaut? It's one of the best films of the year, it's one of the most popular, and exquisite from top to bottom.
BEST MOTION PICTURE, ANIMATED
Flow
Inside Out 2
Memoir of a Snail
Moana 2
The Wild Robot
Wallace and Grombit: Vengeance Most Fowl

BEST MOTION PICTURE, ANIMATED
Flow
Inside Out 2
Memoir of a Snail
Moana 2
The Wild Robot
Wallace and Grombit: Vengeance Most Fowl
While you never count out Disney's billion-dollar Inside Out 2, nothing animated compares to the lovely, humorous, and emotional The Wild Robot
Cinematic and Box Office Achievement
Cinematic and Box Office Achievement
Alien: Romulus
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Deadpool & Wolverine
Gladiator II
Inside Out 2
Twisters
Wicked
The Wild Robot
Essentially the "Popular Pick" category, there's only one movie that still resonates with audiences and has also earned numerous other nominations, and that's Wicked
BEST MOTION PICTURE, NON-ENGLISH LANGUAGE
All We Imagine as Light
Emilia Perez
The Girl With the Needle
I'm Still Here
The Seed of the Sacred Fig
Vermiglio
The most nominated film will easily win this one
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE, DRAMA
Pamela Anderson - The Last Showgirl
Angelina Jolie - Maria
Nicole Kidman - Babygirl
Tilda Swinton - The Room Next Door
Fernanda Torres - I'm Still Here
Kate Winslet - Lee
With everyone paying attention to the Comedy/Musical category, this one feels a bit of an undercard, and while all did fantastic, it'll probably go to Kidman
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE, DRAMA
Adrien Brody - The Brutalist
Timothee Chalamet - A Complete Unknown
Daniel Craig - Queer
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Deadpool & Wolverine
Gladiator II
Inside Out 2

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE, DRAMA
Adrien Brody - The Brutalist
Timothee Chalamet - A Complete Unknown
Daniel Craig - Queer
Colman Domingo - Sing Sing
Ralph Fiennes - Conclave
Sebastian Stan - The Apprentice
There's five strong contenders (plus Sebastian Stan) that could easily win, but I see Brody taking it
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE, MUSICAL OR COMEDY
Amy Adams - Nightbitch
Cynthia Erivo - Wicked
Karla Sofia Gascon - Emilia Perez
Mikey Madson - Anora
Demi Moore - The Substance
Zendaya - Challengers
As much as I would love Demi Moore to win in one of her best performances ever, it's a two-woman race between Erivo and Madson, but I'm going with Madson's transformative turn in "Anora"
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE, MUSICAL OR COMEDY
Jesse Eisenberg - A Real Pain
Hugh Grant - Heretic
Gabriel LaBelle - Saturday Night
Jesse Plemons - Kinds of Kindness
Ralph Fiennes - Conclave
Sebastian Stan - The Apprentice

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE, MUSICAL OR COMEDY
Jesse Eisenberg - A Real Pain
Hugh Grant - Heretic
Gabriel LaBelle - Saturday Night
Jesse Plemons - Kinds of Kindness
Glen Powell - Hitman
Sebastian Stan - A Different Man
I wish the Golden Globes would include a horror category since films like "Heretic" and "The Substance" really aren't comedies, and while I hope Hugh Grant wins, I see this going to Sebastian Stan's transformative performance in the film "A Different Man"
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN ANY MOTION PICTURE
Selena Gomez - Emilia Perez
Ariana Grande - Wicked
Felicity Jones - The Brutalist
Margaret Qualley - The Substance
Isabella Rossellini - Conclave
Zoe Saldana - Emilia Perez
Honestly it doesn't seem fair to include Grande in this category since she isn't as much supporting as co-leading, but she gave a tour-de-force performance in "Wicked" and deserves the win
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN ANY MOTION PICTURE
Yura Borisov - Anora
Kieran Culkin - A Real Pain
Edward Norton - A Complete Unknown
Guy Pearce - The Brutalist
Jeremy Strong - The Apprentice
Denzel Washington - Gladiator II
While Washington stole the show in "Gladiator II," it's almost a foregone conclusion Kieran Culkin will win (deservedly so) for his role in "A Real Pain"
BEST DIRECTOR, MOTION PICTURE
Jacques Audiard - Emilia Perez
Sean Baker - Anora
Edward Berger - Conclave
Brady Corbet - The Brutalist
Coralie Fargeat - The Substance
Payal Kapadia - All We Imagine as Light
As much as I'd love for Fargeat to win, it'll probably go to Corbet for his epic "The Brutalist"
BEST SCREENPLAY, MOTION PICTURE
Jacques Audiard - Emilia Perez
Sean Baker - Anora
Brady Corbet & Mona Fastvold - The Brutalist
Jesse Eisenberg - A Real Pain
Coralie Fargeat - The Substance
Peter Straughan - Conclave
While it might go to "The Brutalist," I feel like Sean Baker has an outside shot at winning for "Anora"
BEST ORIGINAL SCORE, MOTION PICTURE
Volker Bertelmann - Conclave
Daniel Blumberg - The Brutalist
Kris Bowers - The Wild Robot
Clement Ducol & Camille - Emilia Perez
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross - Challengers
Hans Zimmer - Dune: Part Two
Every so often I go with my gut instead of what I think others will choose (in that case, Blumberg will probably win), but I'm going with the fantastic score from "Challengers" to win
BEST ORIGINAL SONG, MOTION PICTURE
Beautiful That Way - The Last Showgirl
Compress/Repress - Challengers
El Mal - Emilia Perez
Forbidden Road - Better Man
Kiss the Sky - The Wild Robot
Sebastian Stan - A Different Man
I wish the Golden Globes would include a horror category since films like "Heretic" and "The Substance" really aren't comedies, and while I hope Hugh Grant wins, I see this going to Sebastian Stan's transformative performance in the film "A Different Man"

BEST ORIGINAL SONG, MOTION PICTURE
Beautiful That Way - The Last Showgirl
Compress/Repress - Challengers
El Mal - Emilia Perez
Forbidden Road - Better Man
Kiss the Sky - The Wild Robot
Mi Camino - Emilia Perez
Since "Wicked" can't be nominated because the songs are from the musical, it'll probably come down to one of the two songs from the only musical in this category (although my sentimental fav is "Kiss the Sky"), and I'm going with El Mal
