Golden Globes 2024 Predictions

The one thing I like about winter is awards season. BAFTA, Critics' Choice, SAG Awards, culminating to the biggest night in cinema, The Oscars. Each awards year begins though with the Golden Globes, and while I haven't had the chance to watch too many movies nominated since they weren't playing in my area, here are my predictions on who will win.

Can anything stop this juggernaut? It's one of the best films of the year, it's one of the most popular, and exquisite from top to bottom.

Wallace and Grombit: Vengeance Most Fowl

While you never count out Disney's billion-dollar Inside Out 2, nothing animated compares to the lovely, humorous, and emotional The Wild Robot

Essentially the "Popular Pick" category, there's only one movie that still resonates with audiences and has also earned numerous other nominations, and that's Wicked

With everyone paying attention to the Comedy/Musical category, this one feels a bit of an undercard, and while all did fantastic, it'll probably go to Kidman

There's five strong contenders (plus Sebastian Stan) that could easily win, but I see Brody taking it

As much as I would love Demi Moore to win in one of her best performances ever, it's a two-woman race between Erivo and Madson, but I'm going with Madson's transformative turn in "Anora"

 I wish the Golden Globes would include a horror category since films like "Heretic" and "The Substance" really aren't comedies, and while I hope Hugh Grant wins, I see this going to Sebastian Stan's transformative performance in the film "A Different Man"

Honestly it doesn't seem fair to include Grande in this category since she isn't as much supporting as co-leading, but she gave a tour-de-force performance in "Wicked" and deserves the win

Kieran Culkin - A Real Pain
Edward Norton - A Complete Unknown
Guy Pearce - The Brutalist
Jeremy Strong - The Apprentice
Denzel Washington - Gladiator II
While Washington stole the show in "Gladiator II," it's almost a foregone conclusion Kieran Culkin will win (deservedly so) for his role in "A Real Pain"

Edward Berger - Conclave
Brady Corbet - The Brutalist
Coralie Fargeat - The Substance
Payal Kapadia - All We Imagine as Light
As much as I'd love for Fargeat to win, it'll probably go to Corbet for his epic "The Brutalist"

Brady Corbet & Mona Fastvold - The Brutalist
Jesse Eisenberg - A Real Pain

Peter Straughan - Conclave
While it might go to "The Brutalist," I feel like Sean Baker has an outside shot at winning for "Anora"

Every so often I go with my gut instead of what I think others will choose (in that case, Blumberg will probably win), but I'm going with the fantastic score from "Challengers" to win

Since "Wicked" can't be nominated because the songs are from the musical, it'll probably come down to one of the two songs from the only musical in this category (although my sentimental fav is "Kiss the Sky"), and I'm going with El Mal
