Storage 24
Starring Noel Clarke, Colin O'Donoghue, Antonia Campbell-Hughes, Alex Price
Directed by Johannes Roberts
A mysterious plane crash occurs in London, and for Jake (Alex Price), it's more of a nuisance than something to be afraid of, as the crash caused the storage place he works at to go into lockdown for some reason. Outside the storage building, a creature aboard the military plane has broken out of its box and finds its way inside the building, as the lockdown ends.
Meanwhile, Charlie (Noel Clarke) and his best friend Mark (Colin O'Donoghue) are on their way to the storage building to collect items from Charlie's unit that he shared with his girlfriend Shelley (Antonia Campbell-Hughes), whom had just broken up with him. Unbeknownst to him, Shelley is already at the complex with two of her friends going through her stuff, which leads to an awkward confrontation and long-hidden secrets that are revealed.
But then the building goes into lockdown again and the creature stalks the people inside, killing them one-by-one, as they struggle to find a way out or destroy the creature for good - before they kill each other first.
Creature features nowadays are nothing like those of the past. Well, maybe they are, because I can't think of a really goo, creepy creature feature, unless you count alien movies like "Alien" or "The Thing." "Storage 24" is just alright, focusing more on the human drama than the creature (which somewhat resembles the aliens from "Alien") itself. The characters are completely one-note stereotypes, some you root for, others you root for to die. It's a great way to spend an afternoon when you don't want to do or think about anything, but if you're looking for a superior film I'd advise looking somewhere else, unless you're into seeing a robotic yelping poodle scaring the crap out of a creature as it's laced with fireworks. Then you won't find a better film.
